Located on Corstorphine Road within Spire Murrayfield Hospital, Spire Private GP clinic is easily accessible by car or bus from the centre of Edinburgh. The clinic operates on Tuesdays and Thursdays, between 9:30am and 12pm.


Spire provide 30-minute appointments for all, and a health questionnaire to be completed prior to attending. This allows for more time to be spent discussing patients' symptoms and concerns. #4 City Health Clinic - Fountainbridge



The City Health Clinic is located in Fountainbridge, in the centre of Edinburgh. The clinic is open from 9am-5pm 5 days a week Monday – Friday. The clinic is also home to a dentist and provides facial aesthetic services.


This clinics private GP services specialise in Occupation Health and providing Health Screenings. GP appointments are usually available within 24-48 hours. Specialised services offered include climber medicals and UK Oil and Gas (OGUK) medicals.


All of the health screenings at City Health Clinic are conducted entirely by a doctor. There are three levels of health screening available: ‘Wellbeing’, ‘Standard’ and ‘Executive” depending on what information you would like from your screening.


Health Screenings start at £310, however, the website does not have any further information about costs for other services. Contacting the clinic directly would be the best way to get an idea of the price ranges for City Health Clinic.


#3 yourGP - Dean Village



Located in historic Dean Village, on the outskirts of Edinburgh City Centre, yourGP clinic provides some dedicated customer parking and nearby metered on-street parking for easy access. The practice is open six days a week, including one weekend day. The practice also offers short notice appointments, which can be the same day or within 24 hours of contacting the clinic.


yourGP offer a variety of five appointment lengths, starting at 15 minutes and going up to 1 hour. They also offer 15-minute telephone consultations, for patients who are unable to attend the practice. If you are staying locally within a 5-mile radius of the practice, you may also book a home visit with a GP to visit you where you are staying – be it at home or a hotel.

#2 GP-Plus - Edinburgh City Centre



GP-Plus clinic is based in the city centre of Edinburgh, only a ten-minute walk from George Street. It is well serviced by local bus and tram routes in the centre. The clinic is open 9am-6pm Monday – Thursday, and 9am-4pm on a Friday.


There are two experienced GPs who run the GP-Plus clinic, and all appointments are up to 45 minutes long as standard. Services offered by the clinic include chronic pain management, weight management, vaccinations and travel health.


The clinic offers a comprehensive Occupational Health Service specifically designed for the corporate sector. This includes pre-placement assessments and on-site vaccinations. On-site vaccinations allow for large groups of employees to be vaccinated at the same time against common things such as the flu.


Fees for a GP consultation at GP-Plus start at £140, depending on the length of appointment. Consultant referrals cost £150, and non-urgent repeat prescriptions cost £35.


#1 The Edinburgh Clinic - Morningside



Based in a suburb of Edinburgh, just minutes away from the centre, The Edinburgh Clinic provide a wide variety of services within their clinic. The clinic offers free on-site parking for ease of access and is served by local bus routes. The clinic is open Monday - Friday between 7am and 8pm.


The Edinburgh Clinic offers four different lengths of GP appointments. Depending on the reason for the appointment, appointment times start at 15 minutes for shorter procedures such as the flu jab and repeat prescriptions. Longer appointment times of 30-, 45- and 60-minute appointments are available for more complex cases.
